REPAIRS - BEFORE & AFTER

This steel casement unit was delivered to the studio with missing panels, flaking paint, crumbling glazing putty, smashed glass, and broken solder joints.  Dozens of steps were taken to get it to its finished state, as seen in the third picture.

Before:  This transom window's glass pieces had settled and bowed over time and the lead had separated from the glass.

After:  Releading the window brought the pieces back into plane.

Several pieces of glass and zinc came were replaced in this Bungalow-style panel.

The tiny shards of this shattered window were brought to us in a bag.  Like a jigsaw puzzle, each piece of glass was painstakingly rearranged and glued, then soldered back into one unit.

This antique required careful edge-gluing with conservator's epoxy instead of replacing the broken piece of glass.
